Hello everybody ...
A quick stop just to say Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
I hope everyone is still enjoying "OurProxy" ... :)
May 2011 be an year of great achievements to all of you, and great happiness and peace for the mankind. Believe-me, we need it.
Are you guys still around? Still using the proxy? I hope so.
Having the opportunity of developing this software for you was a great experience for me during those years (yes ... we've been together for years, WOW!!!).
Have fun and enjoy 2011.
Resistance is futile!!!
Hi borg,
ReplyDeleteI am using the proxy. Works very well.
Thank you for creating so useful tool.
I've added some new buttons and I created a new export function to get a xml file copybot style.
So I can import the attachments using copybot.
I do not know how to fill in the fields Name and Descripion in the xml file with those of the original prims and I have to export all the prims with a text such as "Object" and "No description".
Can you help me?
Hello Borg,
ReplyDeletecan you post here hoe i can make MyProxy connect to "InWorldz"
Hve a few things running great with sl but would like to access Inworldz... not so good with config set ups
Hi The Borg
ReplyDeleteGlad you still have a look here from time to time. And how many little borgs (borgas?) are now around you? ;-)
Although I know you have officially abandoned MyNewProxy, I recently looked at some way to improve some features and had a technical question about a code issue, sending it by separated email.
Nothing special otherwise, wishing you and your family a good old years end and an even better beginning of the new 2011.
Cheers, K-Werk
Hi Domenico,
ReplyDeleteI believe you will have to find a way to capture the name and description during the capture of objects.
The objects are recorded internally by MyProxy as their "Local IDs", so there would be no information there about their names.
Unfortunately this is not a simple change. But the trick is to sniff the packets sent by the server (you can use the regular LibOpenMetaverse proxy to do that) and find a way to correlate the packets containing the object information to what is being recorded by my object capture. I remember that I have tried doing it but can't remember exactly why I gave up. Must not be something very straightforward.
Hi divingnt,
The URI for inworlds is http://inworldz.com:8002/, so in theory the only thing you have to do is use that URI on a command line parameter of MyProxy.
The command line parameters have been covered here on previous posts.
Should not be complicated though to have a text field added to myproxy which would contain the desired URI prior to conection.
Let me know if you manage to do that. I may add it to my source code and publish it as a new version.
Hey K-Werk,
BOING BOOM TSCHAK!!!
Three mini-borgs at home and one more coming this January.
Dude! Must be something in the U.S. water ... since I moved here I jumped from two to four mini-borgs.
And there are BIGGER TVs here .. and many more sports channels ... I can't understand how I let it happen ... lol.
Nice to see you guys around. I hope to be able to help more very soon.
Cheers, merry xmas and happy new year to you all.

Finally I have my Anim to BVH converter!
ReplyDeleteI have fought for one month with quaternions, Euler angles and so on and now, finally, I succeeded.
I download animation file from the server (using myProxy), and then turn it into a BVH file.
Cheers,
Gina
Share it ... Share it ... :D
ReplyDeleteCheers,
The Borg.

Hi Gina,
ReplyDeleteTried your converter on animation 42fc083f-4456-a059-8f43-b832e8824a93 and got the following error:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Maybe this helps you finding the reason.
Cheers,
The Borg.
I had the same problem when I ran the program with O.S. 64b.Version
ReplyDeleteBelow you will find the link to the source tested with VS2008
http://rapidshare.com/files/454487671/AToB_VS2008_source.rar
Hmmm ... I believe I was running on 64bit ... I will try tonight on regular 32bit O.S.
ReplyDeleteSame things happens on 32 bits O.S.
ReplyDeletetrans.mTranslation.Length is null on line 98 of Form1.cs.
I didn't have a chance yet to check why, but maybe there's a specific condition preventing it from getting initialized.
Hope I helped.
Check if you have a standard anim.ini file in
ReplyDelete..\SecondLife\app_settings\ folder
Try to rename it to anim.bak and
copy my file anim.ini to the AninToBVH.exe's folder.
This should fix the problem.
Gina
Tried again. I am using Phoenix Viewer, it is the only viewer I have installed.
ReplyDeleteRenamed the anim.ini from app_settings folder and used your anim.ini on AnimToBVH.exe ... same exact issue on the same exact location.
I still have a feeling that the animation I am using may have something that is preventing the structure from initializing.
You can try grabbing the same animation. I will try with different animations later.
Cheers,
The Borg.
The structure trans is derived from Class Translation.
ReplyDeleteThe inizialization is made by reading the file anim.ini.
Null Lenght means you are reading a non standard anim.ini
AnimToBvh try to read the anim.ini file located in ...\SecondLife\app_settings\ folder.
If the file is not found in path "... \ SeconLife\app_settings\", then the program reads the file anim.ini located on the same path of AnimToBvh.exe.
So check if you have a path like "..\ SeconLife\app_settings\", which contains a anim.ini file and delete it.
If you want me to try the animation file you're trying to convert, then send me the link so I try to convert it.
Hi friends! I think that a new update should be done, because lib openmetaverse has been updated and, specially, because now the proxy is failing in a lot of functions as, for example, copying skins: it does not work very well with the new standards in security in Second Life. You can all verify yourselves.
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone,
ReplyDeletePlease feel free to tamper with the code and adapt/implement whatever you feel like.
I did it open-source because I wanted it to belong to all of us, to all of you, so anyone who wants to help with the development is more than welcome.
I haven't had much time to deal with the code for a long time, as I now have 4 Borgs to take care, so you get the picture.
I want to come back to it in fact, maybe to a re-write from scratch using the new lib, but this may take a long time if it ever happens.
But if anyone is dealing with the code and wants to share ideas, I am here to try to help as usual.
Cheers,
The Borg.
New interested person here. Mockba would you perform your maintenance wishlist on MyNewProxy please? I cannot. Can MyNewProxy work with V2, V3 and Firestorm SL Viewers? Would you detail a method?
