Anyone still looking at this?
Hi there ... I wonder if any of the amazing folks who shared these adventures in the metaverse with me are still looking at this.
Anyone there?
Wow ... it has been almost 10 years ... maybe I will put out a new version of my proxy in October?
That would be cool ... a 10 year anniversary version ... lol.

Hello from the Real Life
Hi All,
I wonder if anyone still here?
As I normally do every year, just stopping by to say hello.
2016 has been a shitty year, but hopefully you all had fun and success.
Cheers!!!
The Borg.

Is there (second) life still?
I wonder. Is anyone still following this blog?
Are any of you guys still around?
Anyone still "second-lifing"?
Heh .. after all those years, the little Borgs are getting much bigger now. And heavier.
I wonder if I should release a "5 Years Anniversary" version of MyProxy ... :)
All the best!
Mockba.

Unfortunately ... its over!
Hello everyone ... I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have (with much pain in my heart) decided to drop for good the development of the proxy.
It has been a wonderful adventure, but unfortunately a lot of things have changed in my life which are preventing me to dedicate any more time to development.
All the best for those of you who enjoyed MyProxy, I hope you've had a good time using it.
Cheers and farewell ... The Borg.

HELLO EVERYONE
Who's still alive around here?
Well ... 2012 is gone, aaaand the world didn't end.
I am wondering if I should resume development on the proxy ... lol.
Now that the little borgs are not requiring that much attention. :D
Let me know who is still browsing around here ... miss you guys.
Cheers,
The Borg.

Little Borgs are getting bigger and heavier.
I hope you are all having fun using the proxy.
Having not connected to the metaverse for more than a Year now I don't even know how things looks like over there.
And as always ... Resistance is Futile ... Have phun.

Happy holidays!!!
Hello everybody ...
A quick stop just to say Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
I hope everyone is still enjoying "OurProxy" ... :)
May 2011 be an year of great achievements to all of you, and great happiness and peace for the mankind. Believe-me, we need it.
Are you guys still around? Still using the proxy? I hope so.
Having the opportunity of developing this software for you was a great experience for me during those years (yes ... we've been together for years, WOW!!!).
Have fun and enjoy 2011.

New version is out, 2.30 ... YAY!!!
Hi everyone,
Can't say how much I missed our discussions here.
Here is a new version, 2.30, built against the latest version of LibOpenMetaverse as of Oct/9/2010, and also (hopefully) fixed a bug when downloading big asset files (like animations or sounds).
I am sorry to say that this may be the last release of MyProxy. Everything should be working fine by now (bandwidth permitting), so I don't think there's anything else to be added.
I will still try to fix any bugs you guys may find, but I can't promise any more features.
The development of MyProxy just ceased, as the grid became so boring and useless that I can't even stand staying logged in for more than a couple minutes.
In fact I have even deleted and formatted my local OpenSIM server a few minutes ago.
This has been the best software development experience in my life. Not for the quality of the code, but for the fact that it has been really useful for all of you and for the feedback and support you all gave me.
YOU ARE A F#*$ING AWESOME BAND OF BROTHERS.
If you're into music and synths, please visit the other blog I just started at http://hardsynths.blogspot.com/
See you folks around.
Cheers,
The Borg.
ps.: download of 2.30 is at http://code.google.com/p/mynewproxy/

New version is out: 2.29
Hello everyone,
Here we go again.
This version still doesn't have any of the announced fixes, it is the same as 2.28, just built against the latest LibOpenMetaverse code, as they demanded some changes once they changed their code tree.
This build may improve stability and performance.
Please make sure you test all the functions (other than downloading assets, which is known to be broken) and let me know if you find anything strange.
I am still stuck with the other project, but I will come back to this one soon, that's why I want to have some feedback from you by then.
Cheers,
The Borg.

Silent but not dead.
Hi everyone,
This message is just to let you all know that I did not disappear from the scene (yet).
I am very busy working on another project, not related to the Metaverse, which is consuming most, if not all, of my free time.
I did not forgot about you all though, I do miss you in fact, and I do miss our long threads of conversation here.
I hope to be back soon, with some documentation for the command line options of MyProxy, the fix for the export of large assets (to which I've found the solution already) and maybe some more "fancy" stuff.
You know, I have a Baby Borg here to feed, and just found out that there's ANOTHER Baby Borg on its way, due January (uh oh). So I have to focus on this side (income generating) project for a while.
But rest assured that The Borg will not give up on MyProxy (maybe I should call it OurProxy) anytime soon.
The best for you all.
Cheers,
The Borg.

Resistance is Futile
Hi Everyone,
Yesterday I got scared that someone could have shut down our blog, which would be a surprise for me, as nobody does anything wrong here, right? neither me nor any of you ... :)
So, going forward, looks like it was not a good idea after all to post my email here ... :P ... the email address got used and abused by someone, maybe due to some grudge against MyProxy, I don't know.
Anyways ... we're back, alive and kicking.
Thanks you all for the continuing support ... I would miss the nice conversations we have if this thing got shut down.
Remember: if we ever lose this channel of communication, look for me on 4shared.com, code.google.com ... or even google me.
You will always be able to find me.
Cheers,
mockba.the.borg

New version is out: 2.28
Hello everyone.
Just to keep the thing updated. This version is built against release 3344 of LibOpenMV, which is the latest as of today.
Make sure you all get this latest version and move the support requests to this thread from now on (you all should know the drill by now).
Cheers,

New version is out - 2.27
Hello everyone,
This version fixes a bug found on version 2.26 with the help of our friend Trickster.
The bug was: When exporting a file under windows with certain country settings, the decimal numbers would have commas instead of dots. This breaks the exported file.
I have changed the application to always set the current language/culture (of MyProxy only, not the OS) to "en-US", this way the exported files will be correct.
Please give it a try and have fun while doing it.
The new version can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/mynewproxy/downloads/

New version out.
Hello everyone.
Last night I have released version 2.26 (R12) of MyProxy to the CVS page.
This version has the same features as version 2.25, just recompiled against release 3296 of LibOpenMetaverse.
I have noticed some improvement in performance of the proxy, but I would like also to hear from you if this new version brought you more stability.
The code (and executable) can be downloaded from http://code.google.com/p/mynewproxy/
Please share your thoughts.
Cheers,
The Borg.

MyProxy got a girlfriend
TextureDumper is a small application I've put together this morning based on an idea K-Werk gave me.
It will read the files saved from MyProxy, both .xml and .asset, and dump to disl all the textures referenced there in TGA format.
This way it becomes easier to load those objects into Opensim.
Hope you guys enjoy it,
Sourcecode: https://code.google.com/p/texturedumper/
Remember, it is VERY beta code, so expect (harmless) crashes.
Have fun,
The Borg.

The dog running after the car's wheel
Hey folks,
This is how I am feeling right now: like the dog who was running after the car wheels.
When the car stops, he does not know what to do with the wheel now.
Now that I can copy anything I want, save stuff to import later and look like anyone I want to, (second) life got even more boring ... lol.
I think the last energy I had to dedicate to Second Life was the one I used to write this code... lol.
Now I wander around some SIMs and I don't see anything that would catch my attention. I think this is the feeling you have when you obtain ultimate power ... (second) life becomes "challengeless".
But don't worry ... I'll keep updating MyProxy ... :-)
Cheers,
The Borg.

MyProxy goes (kinda) Pro!
Hi Folks,
I have started a Google Code page for MyProxy, this way you will be able to always track and check-out the latest source code from there.
The project address is http://code.google.com/p/mynewproxy/.
Very soon I will also start accepting collaborations to the code, directly on the source tree (hey K-Werk, stay tuned).
v2.20 has been frozen now as the initial version from which we will start doing version control.
I hope this will help keep everyone updated, and also allow people to contribute with code to MyProxy.
For now I am still learning how to use Google Code, so expect a bumpy ride.
In the meantime I suggest using TortoiseSVN to check out the source code. The URL for the check-out is on the source page on Google Code.
I have added all the necessary DLLs to the download, so you don't have to download the entire LibOpenMetaverse to compile MyProxy. Just install C# 2008, check-out the code and open the solution file.
Hope it works for everyone.
Cheers,
The Borg.

Version 2.20 is out.
Hi Folks,
You can find version 2.20 here.
The only changes to this version are on the log window, which is now editable and the commands are timestamped.
Hey Paul ... hope you enjoy it.
Hello K-Werk, I am still trying to find a decent solution to share code snippets, in the meantime, you can either post your changes here or send me the .cs file via 4shared.com or something like that.
I can do a "diff" between your code and mine, in case and want to implement something into the main code set.
Hope you all have lots of fun with MyProxy.
Cheers,
The Borg.

Is it just me or...
...is MyProxy also working for you?
Hi folks, I would like to know who else is using MyProxy without any issues.
Please share your experience with us, let us know what options you have tried and with what degree of success.
Also, an idea of your connection speed, type of computer, anything you think would be related to your success, would help other achieve the same.
I, for example, use Verizon FIOS, 20Mb down, 5Mb up, on a Dell Inspiron Core 2 Duo 1.6GHz laptop with 3GB memory, graphics set all the way down and bandwidth set all the way up.
Please share.
Cheers,
The Borg.

New version ... v2.19
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
Please download v2.19 from here.
No new features from v2.18; I have just added some more locking control code to the dictionaries handling, which in normal people language means that I made it less likely to crash.
I have tested this version thoroughly and it seems to be working fine, but please report here any issues you may find.
Hope you have lots of fun with it.
Cheers,
The Borg.
